Apple has too much cash. The problem is that they aren't showing a return on the cash. If you're an investor, you're not going to want to invest in cash when you buy stock. If you wanted to do that, you'd put your money in the bank.Apple should look at putting that money to use. For example, Apple could buy Adobe. Adobe has a better price to earnings ratio than Apple and a better profit margin than Apple. In other words, Apple could put *some* of it's cash horde into buying Adobe and the results would be favorable to Apple's bottom line even if Apple ran it as a separate entity. It certainly would get a better return from Adobe than sitting on the cash like it is now with interest rates where they are.Of course, there would be all kinds of benefits for Apple owning Adobe, including leverage against Microsoft and the ability to build up iLife and migrate users to Pro suites from there. It also would give Apple the ability to better shape the industry in ways that's favorable to it...for example, Flash? Apple could optimize it for the Mac and iPhone or change the direction of where Flash is going that benefits Apple.I'm not suggesting that this would or would not be good for the industry, but as a stockholder, it makes sense..

I know why people like him.. because he actually has a sense of humor. And tells stories, we love stories.?
They don't have to win them, they buy them. And those they can't buy, they destroy. |

I don't see how you came to the conclusion the OP is assuming they would think the same way he/she does...The OP didn't insinuate that they should think the same way as people who respect the things around them, they merely questioned what they'd think of the way a lot of people seem to be treating each other; with a lack of consciousness. There's nothing self centered about questioning how people would react to situations... in questioning how they would react, how could that possibly be taken as self centered? Self centered thinking involves only thinking of ones self... it is not self centered to respect the people around you and the environment you live in. That is the opposite of self centered thinking. If you're trying to dispute the value of our morals, and arguing that we should/shouldn't believe our morals apply to everyone, that may be an argument related to the OP's question, but I think you're making assumptions to say they support either side of your debate. |
